Why Study the Meisner Technique? - Reason 1 - Maggie Flanigan Studio

Why Study the Meisner Technique? - Reason 1 - Maggie Flanigan Studio There are a couple of things that a really well-trained Meisner actor can do. One of them is this, they have the ability to create fully realized organic human behavior. Stanislavski was the last major shift in what we consider good acting. Back in the 1920s, 1930s he really started and created this idea of organic acting. Meisner's technique, which is rooted in your ability to really, truthfully do under imaginary circumstances has everything to do with creating behavior. That is the job of the actor. It's what you're paid to do. I can break actors down in really two categories, those that truthfully do, that are organic, and vivid, and really illuminate something about the human condition, and those that indicate, those that act - hack actors that really don't know what they're doing. They perform but Meisner actors, they know how to create behavior. They do it organically and they do it consistently with craft and technique.
